About Central Illinois Farm Beginnings

This year-long training course features successful local farmers as presenters and mentors. It has three components:

Central Illinois Farm Beginnings Students
  • Winter Coursework – 8 Saturday class sessions that focus on business planning and marketing planning (October to March)

  • Spring Field Days/Workshops – 5 days of in-depth, hands-on learning (March to June)

  • One-on-one Mentoring - from a successful sustainable farmer in your field of interest (April-September)
All Farm Beginnings material was developed by the Land Stewardship Project and is based on the experiences of their farmer members. It is used by permission under license.
